Risk & Resilience

A word from our founder, Mario

GreenAnt CEO Mario Simmaco

Dear Friends,

April was a busy month for GreenAnt! From Singapore, to The Hague, to Bangkok, I had the opportunity to engage with some of the most important conversations happening right now at the intersection of climate risk, humanitarian response, and financial resilience. What struck me consistently was not just the scale of the challenge, but the appetite for practical, data-driven solutions that can be deployed where and when they are needed most.

The organizations we met with, across insurance, agriculture, development finance, and humanitarian response, are asking harder questions than they were even a year ago. They want to know not just where risk is highest, but how to act before it materializes. That is exactly the problem GreenAnt was built to solve, and the recognition we received this month from the Institute for Insurance Innovation and the Founder Institute tells us we are on the right track.

We are grateful for the partnerships taking shape and energized by the work ahead.

Warm regards,

Mario Edoardo Simmaco

What has GreenAnt been up to recently?

  • Our CEO Mario Simmaco presented at the Weather Risk Management Association

  • (WRMA) Asia-Pacific Meeting in Singapore this month, sharing GreenAnt's perspective on anticipatory flood insurance and the role of satellite intelligence and AI in climate risk assessment and weather derivatives markets. The WRMA convenes leading voices across financial and insurance markets, and the conversation reinforced growing regional interest in data-driven approaches to climate risk.

  • GreenAnt was recognized as a Startup to Watch in Gamechangers 2026: Climate Risk, a report by the Institute for Insurance Innovation that highlights companies reshaping how insurers assess and mitigate climate risk. The report places GreenAnt alongside leading insurtechs and climate risk companies from around the world.

  • Mario  joined a panel at the Hague Humanity Hub alongside One Acre Fund and Space4Good, speaking to an audience of humanitarian and climate resilience practitioners. The conversation centered on anticipatory action and early warning systems, two areas where GreenAnt's work is directly relevant to the organizations working to get ahead of climate-driven crises before they escalate.

  • Mario wrapped up his travel-intensive month with a series of client meetings in Bangkok, engaging with the World Food ProgrammeMae Fah Luang Foundation (DoiTung), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Bank, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation to explore collaborations around climate resilience, risk monitoring, and anticipatory action programs across Southeast Asia.

  • GreenAnt was also named to the Founder Institute's list of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies of 2026. The recognition reflects growing demand for AI-powered satellite analytics across agriculture, insurance, and environmental risk management. As climate volatility intensifies, organizations need granular, real-time data to make informed decisions about crop health, disaster response, and portfolio resilience. GreenAnt is meeting that need.
