Desidera's threshold and automated weather forecast module functions as a hyper-local early warning system for floods and droughts. Desidera defines forecast-based risk thresholds, i.e. the specific quantity of rainfall that will trigger a flood or a drought in a given area. These risk thresholds are corrected for the land's specific geophysical characteristics (for example, soil moisture, elevation, river discharge, coastal surges, windspeed, etc.) and callibrated across the entire surrounding hydrological basin. Desidera then automatically ingests site-specific weather forecasts and scans for these thresholds. When thresholds are met and disasters are anticipated, Desidera deploys automatic warnings to stakeholds. The platform's active monitoring dashboard presents the live tracker data in an intuitive, actionable display.
